World Aquatics published flags of Russia in the relay protocols of the World Swimming Championships
According to glavcom.ua: The participation of Russian athletes in the World Swimming Championships in Singapore has become a topic of discussion, as they were allowed to compete with a neutral status. While Russian athletes compete as 'Neutral Athletes' in individual events, their team was designated with the national flag in the relays. This move contradicts the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee, but the International Swimming Federation took responsibility for this decision.
Unfortunately, this situation is not unique, as other athletes from Russia are also under significant pressure due to their views and sympathies. Tennis player Mira Andreeva and skier Anton Endzhiyevskiy have come under criticism for their support of pro-Putin organizations and regionalism. This has resulted in sanctions from some countries and disappointment for many sports fans.
