From July 31, electricity prices will rise during peak evening hours in Ukraine. The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NCRECP) made the corresponding decision on July 25.
The price of electricity on the wholesale market and balancing market will increase from 9,000 to 15,000 hryvnias per megawatt-hour, and on the balancing market – from 10,000 to 16,000 hryvnias per megawatt-hour, which means an increase in cost by 1.67 times during certain hours of the day.
The changes will not affect household consumers, who will remain on a fixed tariff of 4.32 UAH per kilowatt-hour.
Experts emphasize that the increase in electricity prices for industry may lead to rising prices for goods and services, which could potentially affect inflation.
The increase in electricity prices will become a relevant topic starting July 31 in Ukraine. Prices for certain groups of consumers will rise, while the impact on household consumers will remain unchanged. However, the increase in prices for enterprises may have far-reaching consequences for the entire population due to a potential rise in the prices of goods and services, which, in turn, will affect inflation.
