Lana Sati Chornogorska killed at the front: soldier, journalist and artist

According to Главком: Lana Sati Chornogorska, a serviceman of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, died on January 1, 2024, as a result of an enemy drone strike in the southern direction of the front. She was not only a military member but also a talented artist, journalist, and activist who left a significant mark in the lives of those who knew her.

Lana Chornogorska was a drone operator, demonstrating her professionalism and dedication to defending Ukraine. Born in Zaporizhzhia, she studied in Dnipro and lived in Kyiv, Odesa, and Lviv. Before joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lana worked as a journalist at the Kharkiv media 'Liuk,' where she gained recognition for her work.

Service and Memory

In 2024, Lana joined the 'Udachnyky' unit of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, where she continued her service. Her colleagues remember her with great respect and love.

“Sati was a committed warrior, an idealistic person, and a true friend,” her comrades noted.

Kateryna Pereverzeva emphasized that

“Lana was part of our team, and the word 'was' becomes impossible next to her name.”

Lana actively participated in cultural initiatives, and in August 2025, she became a guest on the video podcast 'Mezhyrycchia.' Her contribution to art and journalism left a mark, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Olena Herasymyuk, one of her colleagues, expressed her condolences: 'My reader and sister from UDA. Inexpressibly painful. Honor.' Oleg Kadanov also shared his thoughts: 'Lana Sometimes on the shield! Star, eternal memory! There are no words.'

BOhdan Lohvynenko, another friend of Lana, expressed his grief: 'Yesterday Lana (Sati) died defending us with you, she was still so young and so bright.' Her death was a great loss for all who had the honor of knowing this extraordinary woman.

Lana Chornogorska's death highlights the danger and the price that soldiers pay during the conflict, as well as the importance of supporting cultural initiatives even in wartime.
