A salary of 40,000 UAH at ATB turned out to be real: how many shifts need to be worked

Earning about 40,000 UAH per month for an ATB employee in Kyiv is possible, but it requires taking a lot of additional shifts. With a standard schedule of 4/4, a former employee of the network states that the salary is around 27,000 UAH. At the same time, the shortage of workers in retail forces companies to compete more actively for personnel. This is reported by Telegraf.

How much you need to work at ATB to earn 40,000 UAH

The discussion about ATB employees' salaries arose on Threads. A former employee of the network, who claims to have worked there for six years, explained the conditions for earning about 40,000 UAH in Kyiv.

«With a 4/4 schedule of 12 hours in Kyiv, you will earn 27,000 as long as your department consistently passes inspections with high marks and you meet the norms at the cash register. You can take on extra shifts. 7–8 additional shifts, and you will reach 40,000», she explained.

In fact, to earn such a salary, you need to work approximately 24 days a month for 12 hours each day. This amounts to around 288 working hours per month, while the usual 4/4 schedule results in significantly fewer shifts.

The former employee noted that even three or four extra shifts a month can be challenging, especially for people with children.

Salaries in the network vary by region. For comparison, in a specific ATB job listing, security guards were offered up to 27,000 UAH per month.

Why do cashiers' salaries at ATB vary by region

In the comments, employees provided examples of salaries outside the capital. A cashier from Mykolaiv region reported that she previously earned 14,500 UAH, and since August 1, 2026, her salary was raised to 16,500 UAH.

Another example concerns the Vinnytsia region, where for 15 working days, a cashier earns about 17,100 UAH.

According to the publication, in regional centers, the average salary at ATB starts at approximately 20,000 UAH per month. With a 12-hour 4/4 schedule, the hourly rate is evaluated at about 110 UAH.

At the same time, retail remains one of the largest segments of the Ukrainian labor market. In August 2026, there were over 19,000 job vacancies in the trade, sales, and procurement category, and the median salary was 20,850 UAH.

Therefore, a sum of 40,000 UAH is possible for an ordinary ATB employee, but the example demonstrates that this is not a standard salary under the usual schedule. It requires seven or eight additional 12-hour shifts throughout the month.
