Ukraine’s Jiu-Jitsu Team Shines on the World Stage

According to Спортивний комітет: Competing in the 'contact' division at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championships held in Kemer, Turkey, Ukraine’s national team brought home six medals. The squad secured one gold, three silver, and two bronze medals in an event that drew over 300 athletes from more than 20 countries.

Individual Achievements of Ukrainian Athletes

The championship featured two disciplines: Full Contact, which allows unrestricted strikes, and HIF Contact, where head punches are banned and protective helmets are mandatory. A standout performer was Anna Gyria, who claimed gold in the women’s adult category up to 52 kg in the full-contact division.

    • Dmytro Prydybailo in the adult category up to 69 kg in HIF Contact
    • Ivan Kucheriavyi in the adult category up to 94 kg in full-contact
    • Makar Dzerkal in the U18 category up to 69 kg in HIF Contact
  • Bronze medalists:
    • Oleksii Kosmeniuk in the adult category up to 69 kg in full-contact
    • Danylo Tereshchenko in the U18 category up to 69 kg in HIF Contact

These results highlight the high level of training and skill within Ukraine’s jiu-jitsu squad.
