Zelensky signed documents for the ratification of the agreement to establish a Special Tribunal

According to hvylya.net: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 1 signed documents for the ratification of the agreement to create a Special Tribunal regarding Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The head of state reported this on social media.

The agreement was signed between Ukraine and the Council of Europe and now requires prompt ratification to initiate the actual process of establishing the tribunal.

The president urged to submit the necessary legislative changes for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada as soon as possible. 'So that everything on our part is ensured one hundred percent for the full implementation of the agreement to create the tribunal,' Zelensky noted.

The process of creating the tribunal and launching the institution

Zelensky addressed the members of parliament with a request to consider this issue without delay. The president also expects the teams from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and his Office to present a corresponding work schedule with partners for the implementation of the agreement and the actual launch of the institution soon.

'This year, Russia must feel that their responsibility for the crime of aggression is unavoidable and that an international legal process for holding Russia accountable has actually begun,' Zelensky emphasized.

The president called aggression a crime and noted that truly inevitable punishment for Russia for this crime is a global interest for everyone in the world who wants peaceful lives for their people.
