Zelensky Sets Sights on Strikes Deep Inside Russia: New Targets at 120–150 km Revealed
Defense Minister Reports on Drone Supply for the Front Lines
According to Главком: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently reviewed a report from Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov covering drone deliveries to the front and planned attacks on Russian territory. A top priority in the coming months is hitting targets 120 to 150 kilometers inside Russia-focusing on enemy logistics hubs, ammunition depots, command centers, air defense systems, and other assets used in offensive operations against Ukraine. Contracts for medium-range strike systems this year have already increased fivefold compared to last year, with plans to further scale up both procurement and production.
Casualty Assessments and Arms Export Discussions
Final verified data on Russian army losses for April is expected in early May. Zelensky emphasized that the goal is to inflict casualties on occupying forces at a rate that outpaces Moscow’s ability to mobilize new troops. The defense minister and president also discussed opening up arms exports, a move that could significantly bolster Ukraine’s own defense capabilities.
Zelensky held a separate meeting with Foreign Intelligence Service chief Oleh Luhovskyi, where they addressed Ukrainian strikes on Russia’s energy infrastructure-operations that have already caused major load reductions at key Russian ports. Since the start of 2026, Ukraine’s military has received twice as many interceptor drones through Defense Procurement Agency contracts as it did in all of 2025. Meanwhile, Zelensky has instructed Fedorov and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to ramp up production of ground-based robotic systems to 50,000 units this year.
These steps highlight Ukraine’s intensifying defense efforts and strategic strike planning, aimed not only at strengthening its own position but also at destabilizing the adversary.
Such actions reflect Ukraine’s determination to keep building its defensive capabilities and to strike critical enemy infrastructure. Amid Russia’s ongoing aggression, focusing attacks on military and energy assets can significantly undermine the enemy’s ability to conduct combat operations. The ramp-up in drone and strike system production signals a strategic approach to national defense and a clear readiness for active operations on the front line.
As Ukraine intensifies its military strategy, understanding Russia's upcoming offensive and mobilization efforts becomes crucial. The recent discussions by President Zelensky highlight the urgency of countering Moscow's capabilities, emphasizing the need for Ukraine to stay ahead in this evolving conflict.
