Memorial for Fallen Defenders Held in Kyiv
According to МЗС: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, First Lady Olena Zelenska, and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba were joined by international partners to pay tribute to fallen defenders at Independence Square (Maidan). This act of remembrance served as a powerful demonstration of respect for those who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine's sovereignty. The Maidan is a site of profound historical significance, having been the epicenter of the 2014 Revolution of Dignity.
“We stand in their memory-together with our international partners and friends-united in respect, solidarity, and unwavering resolve. In this struggle, we are not alone. Their sacrifice is not just our memory. It is our responsibility. The responsibility to secure lasting peace, restore justice, and ensure that aggression never becomes the norm. Ukraine stands-because they stood first.”
Dmytro Kuleba
The ceremony underscored the critical importance of both national unity and international support in Ukraine's ongoing fight to preserve its independence and territorial integrity. More than a simple memorial, the event served as a call to action for securing a future of peace and justice, a message of heightened relevance given the current challenges Ukraine faces on the global stage.
