Poisoning Concerns Raised at Munich Security Conference

According to Главком: During the Munich Security Conference, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was questioned about the threat of poisoning. This line of inquiry follows the recent death of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, who died on February 16, 2024, in the 'Polar Wolf' penal colony in the settlement of Kharp, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. While Russia's Investigative Committee attributed Navalny's death to a 'combined disease,' the British government and European allies have stated he was killed using the toxin epibatidine. This incident highlights the Kremlin's alleged use of chemical agents against its perceived enemies.

Zelenskyy's Response to the Question of Poisoning

When asked by a Sky News journalist if he feared a potential poisoning, Zelenskyy responded that he does not know what tomorrow holds but emphasized the need to fight every single day.

“Every day is a new life. Our only goal is to survive. I do not think about myself because we have lost many people. I am one of many people in Ukraine who are fighting,” the president stated.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that he has no time to dwell on Putin and his poisons:

“I cannot think about Putin, about his poison and the toxins he has or had. I don't have time for that.”

He questioned the fundamental difference between crimes committed against people and the specific use of toxins or poisonous substances.

In a related statement, Lyudmila Navalnaya, the wife of Alexei Navalny, expressed confidence that the truth would eventually prevail. She noted that while the instigator of the crime is known to the whole world, she and others seek to identify the perpetrators and all those who facilitated it.

This situation underscores the severe threats faced by political opponents in Russia and highlights the critical importance of international support for Ukraine amidst escalating risks. Zelenskyy's remarks reflect his unwavering commitment to his nation's struggle, despite the personal dangers he may face. The ongoing investigation into Navalny's death and the international community's response are likely to influence future dynamics in the region and the global stance toward the Russian regime.
