According to Radiotrek — Світ: New research has reshaped predictions about Earth’s future, particularly whether it will be swallowed by the Sun roughly 5 billion years from now. The findings suggest Earth could avoid this fate due to the Sun’s mass loss, which would push the planet into a more distant orbit. Mars might also survive the Sun’s expansion, whereas the innermost planets-Mercury and Venus-are expected to be consumed.

Updated calculations indicate the Sun will shed mass through a powerful stellar wind, a factor that will significantly alter planetary orbits.
