External Independent Assessment for Fourth Graders: How Certification in Schools Will Change Starting in 2027

According to hvylya.net: According to 'Khvili', Ukrainian fourth graders will begin undergoing mandatory state final certification in the format of external independent assessment starting in 2027. This decision was made by the Ministry of Education and Science.

Preparation for the introduction of this innovation will start in the 2025/26 academic year. From February to April 2026, the creation of a special educational online platform for conducting final assessments is planned. After this, system testing will be conducted with the participation of 10,000 students completing primary school.

Ukrainian fourth graders will be required to undergo state final certification in the format of external independent assessment starting in 2027. Preparation for this innovation has already begun with the creation of a special educational online platform and system testing is planned before its full implementation.
