Revocation of Turchynov's citizenship: what is known about the petitions and scandals of the mayor of Odessa
According to glavcom.ua: The first petition appeared back in September 2015. 1435 people asked then-president Petro Poroshenko to 'open a criminal case against the mayor of Odessa, Hennadiy Turchynov, on suspicion of separatism.' They claimed that the mayor 'constantly fails to bring up the issue of recognizing Russia as an aggressor state at city council meetings.'
Hennadiy Chetverev from the public organization 'Defenders of Donetsk' noted that their group published these petitions eight years ago, but having received no response from the authorities, they decided to abandon this initiative.
