According to НОК: From April 25 to 28, the Italian city of Cagliari hosted the U-23 European Fencing Championships, where 18-year-old épée fencer Emil Conrad claimed a bronze medal. This marks the first podium finish for Ukraine's national team at the event. During the group stage, she delivered an impressive performance, winning four out of six bouts.

In the round of 16, Conrad edged out a Spanish opponent 15-14. She then dominated the quarterfinals, defeating a Norwegian fencer 15-7. Moving on, she twice overcame Italian competitors with narrow victories of 10-9 and 11-10. Her run ended in the semifinals, where she fell 11-12 to Italy's Gaia Caforio, who went on to become the 2024 European champion.
