Ukraine Reports 222 Combat Engagements in a Day, With Pokrovsk Sector Seeing the Heaviest Action

According to Главком: The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported intense combat activity across the front on March 28, as Russian forces continued their offensive pressure. A total of 222 separate combat engagements were recorded. In these clashes, the enemy launched 75 airstrikes and dropped 227 guided aerial bombs. Furthermore, Russian forces deployed 5,173 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,909 artillery strikes against Ukrainian military positions and civilian settlements. This day marked the 1,494th day of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, a conflict that has fundamentally reshaped European security.
High-Intensity Fighting Across Multiple Fronts
Fighting remained intense across several key sectors of the front. On the South-Slobozhanske direction, the enemy conducted 75 artillery strikes on military positions and settlements, two of which utilized multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). Five separate assaults were also recorded in the areas of:
- Staritsa
- Prylipka
- Vovchansk
- Vovchanski Khutory
- Chuhunivka
On the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops mounted eight attacks near Pishchane, Petropavlivka, Kruhliakivka, and in the directions of Novoplatonivka and Kurylivka. The Lyman sector also saw action, with five assaults recorded toward Drobycheve and Stavky, as well as in the Novoselivka area. In the Sloviansk direction, four attempts to advance were made near Zakytne, Riznykivka, Platonivka, and toward Rai-Oleksandrivka.
On the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy made three attempts to improve its tactical position with attacks toward Nykyforivka and in the Predtechyne area. The Kostiantynivka direction was the scene of 26 assaults in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Pleshiivka, Novopavlivka, Kleban-Byk, Ivanopillia, Yablunivka, and toward Illinivka, Sofiyivka, and Berestok.
The Pokrovsk direction was the most active, with 51 separate attacks. Russian forces attempted to advance in the areas of:

- Udachne
- Novomykolaivka
- Novopidhorodne
- Molodetske
- Nove Shakhove
- Chervonyi Lyman
- Novopavlivka

One assault operation in this sector was still ongoing at the time of the report.
On the Oleksandrivske direction, 19 attacks were noted near Oleksandragrad, Ivanivka, Zelenyi Hai, Andriivka-Klevtsove, Sichneve, and toward Sosnivka, Verbove, and Zlahoda. In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy carried out 32 assaults in the areas of Huliaipole, Varvarivka, Olenokostiantynivka, and Myrne, and toward Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Hirke, Huliaipilske, and Tsvitkove. Activity on the Orikhiv direction manifested in attacks near Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Mali Shcherbaky, and Stepove. Additionally, two assault actions occurred on the Prydniprovske direction toward the Antonivskyi Bridge.
