Most Russians are ready for peace now: what the survey showed
According to glavcom.ua: Most citizens of Russia are ready to end the war against Ukraine right now and would accept the establishment of a demarcation line along the actual front line. This was reported in an interview with 'Hlavkom' by the director of the Institute of Conflictology and Analysis of Russia, Oleksandr Shulha.
The assertion that Russians 'will not understand' Vladimir Putin's decision to halt military actions without complete occupation of Donbass or Zaporizhzhia is false. During the survey, people were asked the question: 'If Putin announces the end of the special military operation tomorrow, would you support this decision?'. The overwhelming majority of respondents answered affirmatively.
We constantly asked the question: 'If Putin announces the end of the special military operation tomorrow, would you support this decision?'. The absolute majority answered: yes. Before this, we asked: 'In your opinion, has the special military operation achieved its goals?'. More than half of the respondents consistently said that it had only partially achieved its goals, and only about 5% said it had completely achieved its goals. However, the absolute majority agrees that the war should end right today, Shulha stated.
Support for the Spread of Kremlin Power
Russians are ready to accept any decision from the Kremlin, as long as it is presented as a 'victory'. At the same time, after the cessation of hostilities, an internal 'rollback' and a wave of discontent from a radically-oriented minority, which could create problems for the Kremlin, are not excluded.
Earlier, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Director of the Institute of Conflictology and Analysis of Russia Oleksandr Shulha said that Russians do not feel moral responsibility for the war in Ukraine, and the majority of the population is not ready to personally participate in hostilities.
From the interview with the director of the Institute of Conflictology and Analysis of Russia Oleksandr Shulha, it becomes clear that citizens of Russia view the end of the war with Ukraine as a necessary and positive step, but the readiness to participate in hostilities is revealed only in a limited number of citizens.
