BIGSHOW agency refused to hire the wife of a military man due to having a child

According to glavcom.ua: The BIGSHOW agency, which specializes in concert organization, refused to hire a woman, the wife of a military man, because she has a preschool-aged child. The woman claims she responded to a job ad with a flexible schedule but was rejected due to a photo with her child on social media.

After she was accused of discrimination, the company explained that they are looking for employees without children or with children who are already older. The woman emphasized that this approach is illegal in Ukraine.

«So, while my husband defended all of us for seven years, including this business, they decided to interfere in my personal life and refuse me because of my child, especially since the child's father does not live with us (as he is at the front daily and returns in the evening)», the woman explained.

After the post was published on social media, the founder of the agency apologized for the actions of his employee. The State Employment Service reported that this year it actively sought jobs for more than 132 thousand people, providing an average of two vacancies for each candidate.
