In 2026, several types of financial assistance for children are available in Ukraine, especially for those who have lost parental care due to the war. The state has provided both basic payments and increased support for families that temporarily take such children into custody. This is reported by 24 Channel.

Child Payments 2026: Amounts of Assistance

According to the state budget, the basic payments are as follows:

  • for children under 6 years old - 2,817 hryvnias

  • for children aged 6 to 18 years - 3,512 hryvnias.

There is also a program called “No Child Alone,” which provides significantly higher payments for children without parental care:

  • up to 6 years old - 7,042.5 hryvnias

  • from 6 to 18 years old - 8,780 hryvnias

  • for children with disabilities under 6 years old - 9,859.5 hryvnias

  • for children with disabilities from 6 to 18 years old - 12,292 hryvnias.

The assistance is provided for the period of temporary placement of the child, but not for more than 6 months.

Assistance for Children Without Parents in 2026: Who is Eligible

Payments are intended for children who have not yet received orphan status but have actually lost parental care due to the war.

Assistance may be assigned in the following cases:

  • parents died or passed away

  • are in captivity or deprived of freedom

  • are missing

  • are left in occupied territories or in combat zones.

The recipient of the funds is the person or family that temporarily cares for the child and resides in Ukraine.

Moreover, teenagers aged 14 to 18 may apply for assistance on their own if they are studying and have a separate place of residence.

An application must be submitted to the Pension Fund, the CNAP, or the local self-government body. Payments are credited from the first day of the month in which documents are submitted.

It is important that these funds belong to the child and are to be used solely for their needs.

We remind you that in 2026, an experimental program of basic social assistance was launched in Ukraine, which provides a single monthly payment for low-income families. It can amount to up to 4,500 UAH per person and replaces several types of assistance.
