What is Andriy Shevchenko's salary: head of UAF gave an answer

The president of the Ukrainian football association Andriy Shevchenko publicly announced his salary as the head of UAF for the first time. According to him, the monthly income is 25 thousand dollars before taxes, and after the change of leadership, the association significantly reduced expenses and reformed the management system. Shevchenko explained this in an interview with Tribuna.com.

Shevchenko stated that he receives a salary of 25 thousand dollars

During the conversation, the president of UAF answered questions about the high salaries of the association's management.

According to Andriy Shevchenko, his salary is 25 thousand dollars, from which he separately pays taxes both in Ukraine and in the United Kingdom, where he is a tax resident.

«I can say that this is the lowest salary I have earned in my life after “Dynamo”», — said Shevchenko.

He also emphasized that the funds for the UAF salary fund come as targeted financing from UEFA and FIFA.

UAF had a budget deficit after the change of leadership

Shevchenko stated that after the new team's arrival, the situation in the association was «catastrophic».

According to him, the budget deficit at that time amounted to approximately 2.5–3 million euros.

The president of UAF noted that the new leadership reduced the number of employees, but at the same time increased the responsibility of the management and made the structure of the association more transparent.

He also highlighted that the expenses on salaries currently account for about 15–16% of the UAF budget.

Shevchenko explained the high salaries by the fight against schemes

Andriy Shevchenko stated that a decent level of wages is needed so that employees do not look for «schemes» and do not abuse their positions.

According to him, the new team is trying to build an open model of the association’s work and demonstrate an example of transparent management of football finances.
