Ukraine's National Team Donates 45 Vacuum Pumps to Lviv Military Hospital

According to Главком: Andriy Shevchenko, president of the Ukrainian Association of Football, along with the coaching staff and players from Ukraine's national team, recently visited the Western Region Military Medical Clinical Center in Lviv. During the visit, they announced a donation of 45 vacuum pumps for wound therapy to the hospital. The equipment was purchased using personal funds contributed by UAF leadership, the coaching staff, and the players themselves-demonstrating their gratitude and support for medical workers operating under wartime conditions.

Shevchenko and the squad expressed deep respect and appreciation for the soldiers who sacrifice their health and lives for the country.

'Guys, we came here to show our respect and gratitude for everything you do for our nation-for sacrificing your health and your lives. Because of you, we are able to play football. We will never forget the heroism of each one of you,' Roman Yaremchuk

Illia Zabarnyi added: 'Every time we step onto the pitch, we remember who we are playing for. We wish you a speedy recovery so you can come and watch us in the stadiums.'

2026 FIFA World Cup

Meanwhile, all participants for the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been confirmed. Under the new tournament format, teams finishing first and second in their groups will advance to the round of 16, along with the eight best third-placed sides from the group stage.

It is worth recalling that Ukraine lost 1–3 to Sweden in the semifinal of the World Cup playoffs. Goals were scored by Gyökeres in the 6th, 51st, and 72nd minutes, while Ponomarenko found the net in the 90+1 minute. As a result, Ukraine failed to qualify for the final tournament but remains committed to improving its performances in future competitions.
