Andriy Yermak's Stay in a Paid Detention Cell
Attorney Ihor Fomin personally covered the cost of a premium cell at the Kyiv Pre-Trial Detention Center for his client, former head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak. The detention center saw its highest earnings from paid cells in 2023 and 2024, with annual revenues approaching 8 million hryvnias. In 2024, income from these cells totaled 6.53 million hryvnias.

The largest contribution to Yermak’s bail—8 million hryvnias—came from Roza Tapanova, director of the Babyn Yar National Historical and Memorial Reserve. Another contribution of 666 hryvnias was made by Hryhorii Hryshkan, a well-known actor, producer, and public figure. The High Anti-Corruption Court ordered Yermak's pretrial detention after he was notified of suspicion in the laundering of 460 million hryvnias.
The case involves the construction of the 'Dynasty' cottage community in the village of Kozyn, Kyiv region, and possible links to corruption schemes related to Energoatom. Other suspects in the case include Oleksii Chernyshov and Timur Mindich.
“No one knows where he is. That’s not normal. I know we paid for his cell—probably he’s there. I paid for it personally,” said Ihor Fomin.
