Bogdan Redushko's Take on the Korona Friendly

Dynamo Kyiv's left midfielder, Bogdan Redushko, has shared his thoughts on the club's first match of 2026, a January 20th friendly against Poland's Korona that ended in a draw. Redushko, who made his debut for Dynamo in early December 2025, has already played four official matches for the historic Ukrainian club.

In post-match comments, Redushko noted that playing actual games is far more enjoyable than just running in training. He said the team was able to feel its tactical thinking and observe its own adjustments during the match. The player also stressed the importance of the squad's physical condition during this friendly, which was played against the backdrop of a demanding training load.

Tactical Approach and Future Fixtures

Discussing tactics, Bogdan Redushko pointed out that the team worked to a plan requiring all players to push forward and track back. He emphasized that the focus of the game was less on the result and more on collective play and discipline.

Dynamo has scheduled several more friendlies during this training camp:

  • On January 25, 2026, the team will face Kosovo's Malisheva;
  • A match against Lithuanian side Kauno Žalgiris is planned for January 30.

These winter friendlies are a standard part of European clubs' preparations for the second half of the season. Currently, Dynamo sits in fourth place in the Ukrainian Premier League, trailing the joint leaders, LNZ and Shakhtar Donetsk, by nine points. In late February 2026, the team will face Rukh at home and Epitsentr away.

Redushko also observed that his first training camp with the senior squad involves heavier workloads, more running, and higher-intensity drills. In his view, these factors are crucial for preparing for the demanding spring phase of the season.

The upcoming friendlies scheduled by Dynamo are vital for assessing the team's readiness before the season resumes. Given the club's fourth-place standing in the league, these matches could prove critically important for boosting team discipline and improving player fitness. Successfully integrating new players into the tactical system will also be key, potentially influencing results in the official matches of the second half of the season.
