The Ukrainian Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture provides farmers with the opportunity to receive compensation for humanitarian demining expenses. According to Deputy Minister Ihor Bezkaravainyi, this program is aimed at clearing land of dangerous items so that farmers can safely restore agricultural activities in designated areas.
'About one million hectares of agricultural land suitable for farming are located in areas where hostilities are taking place... Now every owner or tenant of such a plot can apply for demining at the expense of the state and safely work on their land after it has been cleared.'
Farmers have the opportunity to submit applications for humanitarian demining through the State Agrarian Register or in person by filling out the appropriate forms. After verifying information about landowners, authorities will make decisions about providing compensation. This initiative will contribute to the recovery of agriculture in war-affected areas and have a positive impact on the economic development of regions.
