Zelensky and Trump agreed on strengthening Ukraine's air defense: details of the conversation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump, which he characterized as 'good' and 'very productive'. The Ukrainian leader reported this on social media.



Zelensky congratulated his American counterpart on achieving an agreement for the Middle East. 'I congratulated President Trump on the success and agreement for the Middle East, which he really secured, and this is a strong result', – wrote the Ukrainian president.


Successful resolution of the conflict in the Middle East


The head of state noted that a successful resolution of the conflict in that region demonstrates the possibility of ending other wars as well. 'If we can stop the war in that region, surely other wars can be stopped, including this Russian war', – emphasized Zelensky.



During the conversation, the Ukrainian president informed Trump about Russian shelling of Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Zelensky expressed gratitude for the US's willingness to support Ukraine in this matter.


Strengthening of Ukrainian air defense


The leaders discussed ways to strengthen Ukraine's air defense and agreements regarding this. 'There are good options, strong ideas on how to really strengthen us', – Zelensky reported.



The Ukrainian president underscored the need for Russia's readiness for genuine diplomacy. 'There needs to be a willingness on the part of Russians to engage in real diplomacy. With strength, this can be ensured', – he concluded.


During the phone conversation between the presidents of Ukraine and the USA, they discussed the success of the agreement for the Middle East, potential conflict resolutions in the region, as well as the strengthening of Ukraine's air defense. Efforts from both sides for cooperation and the development of joint initiatives aim to strengthen relations between the countries and ensure regional security.
