On Friday, October 10, a letter with terrorist threats was found at Notre-Dame in Paris. According to the newspaper Le Figaro, unknown individuals urged the cathedral's administration not to open it on the weekend of October 11 and 12, as they threatened an attack. They claimed that 'foreigners hid knives in the cathedral and plan to carry out a massacre.'
Security services of the cathedral, together with the police, checked the building but found no weapons. There was also heightened control at the entrance to Notre-Dame. So far, the cathedral's administration has not made a decision about filing a report regarding this incident. In December 2024, the Notre-Dame Cathedral reopened in Paris after reconstruction caused by a fire in 2019 that inflicted significant damage.
