On the night of October 12, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with a massive strike using 118 Shahed-type attack drones and imitation drones, as well as one guided missile X-31. The attack began at 20:00 on October 11 from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsk-Akhtarsk and the temporarily occupied Crimea.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of 09:00 on October 12, the Defense Forces of Ukraine shot down or suppressed 103 enemy drones in the north, east and south of the country. The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, radio-electronic warfare units and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups.
Hostilities across the territory
One missile and 15 attack drones were recorded hitting 10 locations. As of the morning, the attack was ongoing - new groups of attack drones entered the north and east of the country.
In the South-Slobozhansk direction, 15 combat clashes were recorded in the areas of Vovchansk, Otradne, Zapadne, Kutikivka and towards Obukhivka, Bologivka, Dvorichanske and Kolodiazne. In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy made 12 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops in the areas of Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, Nova Kruhliakivka and Stepova Novoselivka, with three clashes ongoing in the evening.
In the Lyman direction, Russian troops stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders 13 times in the areas of Shandryholove, Derylove, Kolodiaziv, Kopanka, Karpivka, Drobysheve, Torsk and towards Lyman. Two clashes did not subside by the evening.
