Land Bank in a Year: 1.2 Billion Hryvnias to the Budget and 62 Thousand Hectares Out of the Shadows

Протягом року державний земельний банк приніс до бюджету 1,2 мільярда гривень і повернув 62 тисячі гектарів земель у законне користування.

The 'Land Bank' project has been actively operating for a year and has already collected 1.19 billion hryvnias including VAT for the use of state agricultural lands, reported the Ministry of Economy, Environmental Protection, and Agriculture.

A significant area of land, namely 62,194 hectares, has been transferred into legal use through open online auctions in the 'ProZorro.Sales' system, removing it from the shadows and making it available to farmers. The Minister of Economy, Environmental Protection, and Agriculture of Ukraine, Oleksiy Sobolev, emphasized that this project can dismantle shadow schemes and provide real opportunities for farmers.

'The 'Land Bank' is an example of how transparent and competitive mechanisms can dismantle shadow schemes and replace them with real opportunities for farmers. From the first pool of 90.9 thousand hectares, already 62 thousand have been transferred into legal use, bringing nearly 1.2 billion hryvnias in paid funds that will replenish the state budget. We see the effectiveness — and this result needs to be scaled so that every hectare of state land works for the development of the agri-sector and the economy,' noted Minister of Economy, Environmental Protection, and Agriculture of Ukraine Oleksiy Sobolev.
