Norwegian Ski Jumping Team Targeted in Equipment Heist
During a World Cup event in Germany, the Norwegian ski jumping team fell victim to a locker room theft. Team manager Jan-Erik Aalbu confirmed that the stolen items included:
- helmets
- jackets
- hats
- gloves
- goggles
However, the athletes' skis and boots were left untouched. An investigation is underway, and Aalbu has already reviewed police surveillance footage showing individuals entering the locker room. This type of theft is particularly disruptive for athletes, as specialized competition gear is often custom-fitted and difficult to replace quickly.
The Norwegian team currently has no leads on potential suspects. Jan-Erik Aalbu noted the peculiar nature of the incident, as the thieves specifically targeted the Norwegian facility. The surveillance video reportedly shows people leaving the area wearing the helmets of top jumpers Johann Forfang and Halvor Egner Granerud.
