The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications is actively working on organizing evacuation protocols for cultural heritage from territories that may be under threat. Tetiana Berezhna, Acting Minister, highlighted this important initiative during her speech at the Kyiv International Economic Forum.
'We are currently working to formalize and systematize the evacuation protocols for cultural heritage from those territories that may be in the risk zone. This is not an easy task, as there is a significant balance between the interests of those who nurture that heritage there and the protection of this heritage,' Berezhna explained.
An important part of this work is not only the protection of cultural heritage but also engaging businesses in the development of cultural projects. A law on patronage is also being discussed, which aims to attract funds from the private sector to support cultural initiatives.
'This is an absolutely pragmatic tool that not only defines what patronage is but also provides certain financial incentives for businesses to engage in this, and also gives businesses the opportunity to participate in the supervisory boards of cultural institutions,' Berezhna emphasized.
Ukrainian cultural values are an important element of national identity, therefore the development of cooperation between the state, business, and cultural institutions becomes a strategic task. The law on patronage acts as a key tool in this process, promoting the development of partnerships between different sectors of society to support the cultural sphere.
