The International Paralympic Committee has fully reinstated the Paralympic Committee of Russia

The General Assembly of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has fully reinstated the Paralympic Committee of Russia (PCR). This was reported by 'Glavkom'.

On Saturday, September 27, at the IPC General Assembly in Seoul (South Korea), the member organizations of the IPC voted not to maintain the partial suspension of the Russian national paralympic committee.

In the first round against the complete suspension of the PCR, 111 delegates voted in favor, 55 against, and 11 abstained. In the second round, 91 delegates voted for lifting the partial suspension of the PCR, 77 against, and 8 abstained.

The membership of the PCR was partially suspended at the IPC General Assembly in September 2023. 'We hope that at the upcoming tournaments our athletes will compete with the flag and anthem of their country. But work on this issue is still needed,' said PCR head Rozhkov.

Recall that Russian freestyle skier Anastasia Tatalina appealed to the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) requesting to allow her to participate in the 2026 Olympic Games.

After the vote at the IPC General Assembly in Seoul, the Paralympic Committee of Russia has been fully reinstated. This means that Russian athletes will be able to compete again under national symbols at international paralympic events. However, the issue of allowing athletes to international competitions still requires further resolution.
