NABU and SAP suspect the faction leader of bribing deputies

Лідера фракції підозрюють у наданні хабарів депутатам.

Investigation by NABU and SAP

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) suspect the leader of one of the factions of the Verkhovna Rada of providing improper benefits to members of parliament. This became known as a result of the pre-trial investigation that is ongoing.

According to the information, the fact of deputies receiving improper benefits was recorded in December 2025. The proposal for improper benefits concerned loyal behavior during votes, indicating the existence of systemic agreements. The alleged crime corresponds to part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

NABU and SAP representatives noted that 'this was not about one-time agreements, but rather a regular cooperation mechanism that involved upfront payments and was designed for a long period.' This emphasizes the seriousness of the accusations and the possible consequences for the participants in the case.

Political consequences of the case

At the moment, the name of the faction leader is not disclosed, however, it is known that Yulia Tymoshenko is the head of the 'Fatherland' faction. The investigation is ongoing, and details of the case may emerge soon.

This case is of great importance for the political context in Ukraine, as it raises questions about ethical standards and decision-making mechanisms in parliament. If the accusations are confirmed, this could lead to serious consequences not only for those involved but also for public trust in government institutions. Such investigations highlight the need for systemic efforts to combat corruption at all levels of power in the country.
