More than half of the residents of the European Union prefer Ukraine's membership in the EU compared to other candidate countries. This was reported by Jessica Rosenkranz, Sweden's Minister for EU Affairs, in an interview with the newspaper 'Telegraph'.
High level of support
According to the results of the Eurobarometer survey, over 90% of surveyed Swedes are in favor of Ukraine's accession to the European Union. Rosenkranz emphasized that she feels strong public support due to the position of Swedish society.
'We received the results of the recent Eurobarometer survey, which showed that Sweden is the EU country with the highest level of support for Ukraine's membership. In fact, 91% of Swedes support Ukraine's accession to the European Union,' the minister noted.
Overall positive opinions
According to the survey, in 14 EU member states, 52% of respondents named Ukraine as the priority candidate country they most want to see in the European Union. Finland ranked second in terms of support with a result of 82%.
According to recent surveys, Ukraine's membership in the European Union enjoys high support among residents of EU member countries, especially in Sweden. The Swedish people are the most active advocates for Ukraine's EU membership, indicating a positive attitude towards Ukraine and its Euro-integration efforts in Europe.
