Ukrainian farmers are actively sowing winter crops: overall, almost half of the projected area has been sown - 3,557.0 thousand hectares. Winter crops for grain were sown in all regions of the country.
In particular, according to the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, the following areas have been sown:
- winter wheat - 2,346.8 thousand hectares;
- winter barley - 179.2 thousand hectares;
- winter rye - 45.7 thousand hectares.
Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, and Poltava regions stand out among the leaders in grain sowing. Winter rapeseed is most common in Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, and Mykolaiv regions - a total area of 985.3 thousand hectares has been sown. Sowing of winter rapeseed has already been completed in 13 regions.
