The Pension Fund of Ukraine has announced possible changes to the pension amounts for people with II group disabilities in November.
The pension for individuals with disabilities depends on the disability group, work experience, and other factors
Depending on the disability group, the pension amount can be 100% for group I, 90% for group II, and 50% for group III. Payments begin from the moment the disability is established, but one must apply to the Pension Fund within three months to be eligible for pension accruals from the date the disability is established.
Prospects for pension payments in 2026
The government plans to update the pension system in 2026, allocating just over one trillion hryvnias for this purpose. This will allow for increased pensions for most Ukrainians, including people with disabilities. There is also a separate pension payment system for individuals who became disabled during hostilities, where the pension amount is 80% of the financial support for military personnel, and work experience is not taken into account.
