Ukrainians have sown 5.9 million hectares of land: how this will affect the global market

Українські аграрії засіяли 5,9 мільйона гектарів: які наслідки це матиме для світової економіки.

Ukrainian agrarians, despite the constant threat of enemy shelling, do not stop their work in ensuring food security. Even in such conditions, they continue to sow the fields.



As of November 4, Ukrainian agrarians have sown 5,908.4 thousand hectares of winter crops, which accounts for 90% of the projected areas. Among the sown crops, the most popular are winter wheat, winter barley, and winter rye.


Large regions, such as Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv, lead in sown areas. At the same time, some regions have already completed sowing, preparing for the next stage of crop cultivation.



New grain processing enterprises


With the development of the grain processing industry and the provision of state support, agricultural producers have more opportunities for development. This year was successful in launching new grain processing enterprises, which will improve the situation in the market.



Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, 10 new grain processing enterprises have opened, and the work of 88 flour milling enterprises has been restored. In 2025, 22 enterprises started operating, another step towards the restoration of the industry.


According to statistics, grain processing enterprises processed a significant amount of grains during the first nine months of 2025, including the production of compound feeds, flour, and cereals.



Ukrainian agrarians do not stop even under the threat of shelling and continue to develop the country's agriculture, ensuring the production of food and food security.
