On Thursday, October 23, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Brussels to participate in a meeting of the European Council. Before the meeting, the leader of Ukraine held a brief press conference with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, during which he expressed gratitude for the support in introducing a new package of sanctions against Russia. Zelensky also emphasized that Ukraine will not make any territorial concessions to the aggressor.
The leader of Ukraine noted that the sanctions pressure from the European Union and the United States is a positive signal for other countries, but at the same time stressed the need for greater pressure on Russia. He also expressed astonishment at Russia's aggression and emphasized the readiness to conduct negotiations to achieve long-term peace.
'No territorial concessions will be made,' Zelensky said.
'A ceasefire is possible, but more pressure on Russia is needed for a ceasefire,' the president emphasized.
Zelensky also noted that the decision to transfer Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine is very important and reminded of the achievements of the United States in imposing sanctions against the Russian Federation. He expressed hope that sanctions against Russia would reveal their effective influence. Earlier, the European Union confirmed the 19th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
During the meeting with the President of the European Council, Volodymyr Zelensky stressed the importance of support in introducing sanctions against Russia and emphasized Ukraine's unwavering position on territorial integrity.
