Cyberpolice warns about new fraudulent schemes: how to protect yourself during job searches

Кіберполіція попереджає про нові шахрайські методи: способи забезпечити себе під час пошуку роботи.

The Ukrainian Cyberpolice emphasizes the spread of new manipulative schemes related to fake job offers. Scammers skillfully use these schemes to deceive people by promising them a lucrative position.

According to the Cyberpolice, fraudsters post job advertisements with minimal requirements and high salaries, but the genuine promises are hiding artificial deception schemes.

The first scheme is payment-credit fraud. Scammers offer simple jobs with high pay, but require a prepayment for 'access', 'training', or 'insurance fees' before starting work.

The second scheme is faith deception. At first, the scammers might even pay a bit to gain trust. But over time, they will demand more money under the pretext of 'expanding opportunities' or 'accessing more lucrative tasks'.

The third scheme is aimed at extracting personal information. Here, the scammers are not interested in your money but in payment details. They try to obtain your card number, CVV code, online banking login data, and more, to use this information for fraud.

Recommendations from the Cyberpolice

The Cyberpolice shares advice on how to protect yourself from such fraud schemes. Do not transfer money for training or account activation, be cautious if you are promised easy earnings without the hassle.

Law enforcement recommends avoiding entering your payment details or passwords on suspicious websites, checking the employer, looking for reviews and company contacts. It is also worth paying attention to job offers with official arrangements.

The Cyberpolice stresses: if an offer seems too good to be true, it may be a trap. Be cautious, protect your information, and do not fall for big promises.

The Cyberpolice warns about new fraud schemes through fake job offers, where scammers try to extort money or personal data from people by promising easy positions and high earnings. It is important to be careful and check the reliability of such offers to avoid potential fraud.
