Series of Carbon Monoxide Deaths in Ukraine: What Happened in Irpin, Brovary, and Bucha
In Irpin and Brovary, cases of fatalities from carbon monoxide poisoning related to the use of generators have been recorded. Incidents also occurred in the Ivano-Frankivsk region and Buchan district. In Irpin, a 29-year-old man and his girlfriend died. A report to the police came from a neighbor who could not contact the couple. A dead dog was also found in their apartment.
A 56-year-old man died in Brovary after being poisoned by carbon monoxide from a generator. The man's wife sought help from a neighbor, who also suffered from poisoning. The 34-year-old neighbor was rescued and is currently hospitalized.
In the Nadvirna district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, three children were also poisoned by carbon monoxide. In the Buchan district, three family members were found dead: a couple and their 11-year-old child. Their four-year-old son was hospitalized in serious condition. The preliminary cause of death in the Buchan district was carbon monoxide poisoning due to a malfunctioning gas boiler.

These tragedies highlight the danger of using generators and other devices that can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning, especially in situations where electrical supply is limited. Authorities and emergency services urge citizens to follow safety rules and regularly check the functioning of gas equipment to prevent similar incidents in the future.
