US President Donald Trump hinted at the possibility of providing 'security guarantees' to both sides during a meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington, which caused confusion among the Ukrainian delegation.

As reported by 'Hvilya', this information comes from the Reuters agency.

Trump refused to provide missiles to Ukraine

According to information from the agency, Trump rejected the proposal to provide Ukraine with 'Tomahawk' missiles, stating that the US cannot risk its military resources. After the negotiations, the president called for a cessation of hostilities, a proposal supported by Zelensky.

According to the message, Trump changed his position during discussions among American officials regarding the possibility of a territorial exchange between Ukraine and Russia.

Ukraine may become more vulnerable to Russian attacks

Meanwhile, Ukrainian experts noted that giving up some territories could make Ukraine more vulnerable to Russian attacks. Thus, US actions in the future may impact the further development of the conflict and the strategies of both countries regarding achieving peace.

It is worth noting that Zelensky stated the need to obtain long-range American-made Tomahawk missiles for 'mixed use', similar to Russia, which attacks Ukrainian territory with missiles of its own production, Iranian drones, and missiles from North Korea.

During the meeting between the Presidents of the US and Ukraine, Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky, the possibility of 'security guarantees' was discussed, but the proposal to provide Ukraine with 'Tomahawk' missiles was rejected. Ukrainian experts express concerns that giving up some territories may make the country more vulnerable to Russian attacks, thus further actions by the US could significantly impact the development of the conflict and the position of both sides in seeking peace.
