US President Donald Trump emphatically addressed the UN General Assembly on September 23, expressing his disappointment in relations with Russia and Ukraine. He stated his intention to take serious measures if the conflict does not cease. Trump also emphasized the importance of joint actions with European countries on this issue.
'I thought it would be easiest to end the war in Ukraine, as my relations with President Putin have always been good. In war, you never know what can happen. It does not enhance Russia's prestige. It makes it look bad. Regardless of what happens next, this should have been a matter of a few days, certainly less than a week. And they have been fighting for three and a half years, killing between 5000 to 7000 young soldiers on both sides each week.'
The American leader also noted that the introduction of new tariffs on Russian resources could help resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He called for unity in efforts against the Russian Federation and expressed dissatisfaction with countries that continue to trade with Russia, including the European Union.
In his speech, Trump expressed serious concern about the duration of the conflict in Ukraine and underscored the necessity for active measures to resolve it, calling for joint efforts in this direction from both the USA and European countries.
