A 15-month-old baby died yesterday, July 17, in the city of Namur in central Belgium, after being forgotten in a car by her father. This was reported by the RTBF publication. The cause of death was hyperthermia caused by the abnormal heat. According to the Namur prosecutor's office, a judicial investigation has been launched for involuntary manslaughter.



Impact of Heat on the Economy


July 2025 in Europe began with yet another heatwave. Research from the European Central Bank shows that abnormal heat can slow economic growth, raise prices, and affect the standard of living. In particular, high temperatures reduce outdoor physical activity, decrease productivity in agriculture and services.
