Ukraine Introduces Digital Taxpayer Card with QR Code in Diia App

В Україні впроваджено електронну картку платника податків з QR-кодом у додатку Дія.

New Digital Service Launched in Ukraine

Ukraine has rolled out a new digital service: the ability to obtain an electronic taxpayer card—complete with a QR code—for oneself or one's child through the Diia app. This digital document carries the same legal weight as its paper counterpart, known as the RNOCPP or TIN. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced the launch, noting that over 24 million Ukrainians already use Diia, and the goal is to expand the range of simple, user-friendly digital services available.

With this service, there is no longer any need to visit the State Tax Service in person. Any Ukrainian aged 14 or older can request the electronic card. Parents can also apply for their own e-card while simultaneously obtaining an RNOCPP and e-card for children up to 17 years old. Once ready, the child's document appears directly in the parents' app, streamlining the paperwork process.

How to Get the Electronic Taxpayer Card

To get the e-taxpayer card in Diia, just follow a few simple steps:

  • First, open the Diia app.
  • Navigate to the 'Tax Services' section.
  • Select 'E-taxpayer card for yourself or your child.'
  • Enter or confirm your contact details.
  • Review the application and sign it using Diia.Signature.

In addition to this new feature, Ukraine has also improved the electronic reservation system for military personnel, enabling employers to extend reservations for their employees through the Diia portal. These initiatives aim to simplify administrative processes and enhance citizen services.

The introduction of the electronic taxpayer card in Ukraine marks a significant step forward in digital services, which can help reduce the burden on government agencies while increasing convenience for citizens.

Implementing such services aligns with modern societal demands for faster and more accessible administrative services, especially as digital technologies become increasingly integrated into public administration.

The recent launch of the electronic taxpayer card in Ukraine is just one part of a broader effort to enhance digital services. In addition, the Diia app is set to introduce a new tax service for real-time payments and monitoring, which will further streamline tax processes for citizens. This ongoing digital transformation aims to make administrative tasks more efficient and user-friendly.
