Support for citizens in winter
The government of Ukraine approved a program to assist certain categories of citizens during the winter period, developed by the Ministry of Social Policy. A total of 4.3 billion hryvnias has been allocated for this program, with the launch scheduled for early December.
The program provides for a one-time targeted payment of 6,500 hryvnias. This assistance will be provided to over 660 thousand people, belonging to five key categories:
- children under guardianship or care;
- children with disabilities, including those with group I disabilities;
- persons with group I disabilities among internally displaced persons (IDPs);
- children from low-income families;
- single pensioners receiving care allowances.
Receiving assistance is automatic; the money will be sent to a current account with a special usage regime or to a payment card 'Diia.Card'.
The received funds can be spent on winter clothing and footwear, as well as on medicines and vitamins, but they must be used within 180 days from the moment of receipt.
Support for citizens in winter will be implemented through assistance of 6,500 hryvnias for over 660 thousand people from five different categories who are most in need of additional support during the cold season.
