Ukrainians told what they value more: health and safety

Українці поділилися своїми пріоритетами: здоров'я та безпека на першому місці.

The Better Life Index agency presented a map in the form of infographics that shows the main priorities in almost every country around the world. Nearly two hundred states took part in the survey. It turned out that their priorities drastically differ.

The Better Life Index identified 11 areas of life that concern citizens of different countries. Among them were: 'Safety', 'Housing', 'Work', 'Income', 'Life balance', 'Life satisfaction', 'Health', 'Education', 'Power, governance', 'Society', and 'Environment'.

The agency's initiative, which has been collecting information since 2011, has to date collected more than 60,000 responses from over 180 countries.

The survey results showed that in Europe, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Finland, Poland, and Germany, life satisfaction is the highest valued, while health is most valued in Russia, Norway, Iceland, France, and Austria.

Cyprus was the only country in Europe where people chose 'life balance', while the main priority for the people of Ukraine and Albania is income.

In North America, a clear distinction can be seen between the USA, Canada, and Mexico, whose main priorities were life satisfaction, health, and the environment, respectively.

Meanwhile, almost everyone in South America, including Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Argentina, is most concerned about education. Among European countries, education is also prioritized by representatives from Romania. Moldovans, on the other hand, put work as a priority, while the peoples of Slovenia and Georgia focused on environmental care.

It should be noted that the concern of Ukrainians about their income has a logical basis. The war in the East of the country, the crisis, and the devastated economy have had an obvious impact on the mood of the majority of Ukrainian citizens. As previously reported by INKORR, Ukraine ranks first in the list of the most vulnerable countries in Europe as the political situation increases risks, and the country's infrastructure continues to deteriorate due to the conflict in Donbas. A report by the international insurance company FM Global showed that Ukraine's fall from 76th to 107th place (out of 130) was directly related to the ongoing territorial conflict with Russia in the southern and eastern parts of the country.
