Ukrainian Athletes Achieve Success in International Competition

Ukrainian pistol shooter Olga Lepsky has secured a bronze medal at the 2025 H&N Cup tournament in Germany. Competing in the 10-meter air pistol event, Lepsky delivered an impressive score of 581 points, which surpasses the European junior record held by Kamil Ejejewski. She qualified in second place, behind only Latvia's Agate Rasmane. In the final, Lepsky finished third, with Serbia's Zorana Arunovic taking gold and Rasmane winning silver. This strong performance highlights the depth of talent emerging in precision sports.

Another Ukrainian athlete, Olena Kostevych, also competed at the tournament, finishing in seventh place. Lepsky's success contributes to Ukraine's overall medal tally, which recently saw the country place 10th at the European Youth Olympic Festival with a total of 23 medals:

This marks Ukraine's second-best performance in the festival's history since 1993, only surpassed by the 25 medals won in 2019.

World Summer Universiade

At the World Summer Universiade, which also concluded in Germany, Ukraine placed 14th in the overall medal standings, earning 12 medals:

  • 5 bronze

Notable athletes included Mykola Rushchak from Sumy, who won bronze in the 20-kilometer race walk. Judo proved to be the most successful sport for Ukraine at the festival, bringing home 6 medals.
