Protest against the participation of Russian athletes
On January 8, representatives of the Ukrainian and Latvian skeleton teams held a protest in the Austrian Innsbruck against the participation of Russian athletes in international competitions. This action took place ahead of competitions scheduled for January 9 and 10.
The last performance of Russian skeletonists on the international stage took place in February 2022. Despite this, seven Russian skeletonists received neutral statuses, allowing them to compete under a neutral flag. Among them are the following athletes:

- Polina Knyazeva
- Polina Tyurina
- Daniil Romanov
- Vladislav Semenov
- Yermiy Zikov
