Upgrading Aircraft to Counter Kamikaze Drones

In a move to accelerate its military adaptation, the Ukrainian government has approved a decision that drastically simplifies and speeds up the process of modernizing its aviation fleet against kamikaze drones. The installation of weapons and specialized counter-drone equipment on aircraft and helicopters will now be completed within one month, a significant reduction from previous timelines. This streamlined procedure allows the military to adapt its aviation assets much faster to the demands of modern warfare, where drone threats are a constant and evolving challenge.

Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko detailed the new measures, explaining that armaments, communication systems, navigation tools, and target detection equipment can now be installed without prolonged bureaucratic approvals.

"We must change quickly and adapt our procedures to the challenges of war," stated Yuliia Svyrydenko.

Preparedness for Emerging Threats

The modernization efforts will involve defense enterprises, technical specialists, and military units, demonstrating Ukraine's commitment to a rapid, coordinated response to emerging battlefield threats. This decision marks a critical step in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, enabling a swift reaction to new dangers posed by unmanned aerial vehicles in combat. The faster upgrade cycle for aviation assets is expected to significantly enhance airspace protection effectiveness and better prepare troops for contemporary warfare challenges.
