The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved changes to payments for foster parents and adoptive parents in family-type children's homes and foster families. Resolution No. 1241, which will take effect on January 1, 2026, provides for a new order of monetary provision calculation.
The new calculation formula involves the implementation of a complex formula that takes into account the number of children in the family, including children with disabilities. According to the new order, the amount of payment will be calculated using the formula: GZ = (2.5 * PM) + (1.5 * PM * (K - Ki - Kia - 1)) + (2 * PM * Ki) + (3.5 * PM * Kia), where PM is the minimum living wage, K is the total number of children in the family, Ki is the number of children with disabilities, and Kia is the number of children with disabilities in subgroup A.
Example of calculation
For example, in a family with six children, three of whom have disabilities (one in subgroup A), the payment will increase from 18,168 UAH to 39,364 UAH according to the new formula. The calculation is based on the minimum living wage of 2025.
Regarding children with disabilities in subgroup A
The status of 'a child with disabilities in subgroup A' is granted in exceptional cases of significant health impairment and complete dependence on care.
Payment order
It is important to note that monetary provision will be paid monthly regardless of other types of assistance. Funds will be distributed among parents evenly by their agreement. Earlier, the Pension Fund of Ukraine defined conditions for living assistance.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a new order of payments to foster parents and adoptive parents in family-type children's homes and foster families. The changes provide for the implementation of a new calculation formula for payments, which takes into account the number of children in the family, including children with disabilities, which will improve the financial support of these families.
