Salaries of civil servants in Ukraine: October 2023
Salaries of civil servants in October 2023 in Ukraine showed a positive trend, reaching an average level of 59.7 thousand hryvnias. This indicates a recovery in the growth of average salaries in the public sector, which has been observed over the past months. Compared to the beginning of the year, the average salary of civil servants has increased by 10.45 thousand hryvnias.
The increase in the average salary in the public sector in October was less than 700 hryvnias. Overall, the average salary in Ukraine in October 2023 was 21,190 hryvnias, highlighting a significant difference between the average income of the population and the salaries of civil servants. The highest salary figures were recorded in:
- National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) - average salary 98.16 thousand hryvnias;
- National Commission for State Regulation in the Fields of Energy and Public Utilities (NERC) - 92.77 thousand hryvnias;
- Office of the Verkhovna Rada - 88.77 thousand hryvnias.
At the same time, the lowest average salary is observed in the State Inspection of Energy Supervision, where it was 29.69 thousand hryvnias. Other agencies with low salary indicators include:
- State Agency for Management of Ukraine's Reserves;
- National Service of Mediation and Reconciliation;
- State Agency for the Development of Melioration, Fisheries and Food Programs;
- State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
Salary Dynamics in the Public Sector
During January-October 2023, the average salary in state institutions was 57.39 thousand hryvnias. The dynamics of salaries in the public sector indicate a gradual improvement in payment conditions; however, significant differences between various institutions remain relevant.
Analysis of data on the salaries of civil servants in Ukraine indicates positive changes in payment conditions, which may indicate attempts by the government to improve financial conditions for employees in the public sector. However, significant differences in salaries between different institutions indicate the need for further reforms to ensure greater fairness in wage payments. This issue remains important in the context of economic stability and social justice in Ukraine.
