President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Colonel Yurii Cherevashenko as the commander of drone systems for air defense. The President's Office released this information, emphasizing that the corresponding order was signed by Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal.
Experience and tasks of the new commander
Colonel Cherevashenko has significant experience in building defense drone systems. He participated in the creation of the first group of mobile rapid response brigades for air defense and has recently been actively engaged in the development of interceptor drones.
The President emphasized the importance of actively implementing drones, particularly interceptor drones, and strengthening the air defense system with the latest types of weapons. These tasks were approved at a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff.
