Record losses of the Russian Federation in October: Zelensky named the figure and revealed the army's plans

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a briefing at the meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff announced record losses of Russian troops in October. According to him, Ukrainian drones destroyed more than 25 thousand Russian occupiers, which is the highest number of casualties in a single month since the beginning of the war.


The president emphasized that the situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains critical, sharing about the attempts of Russian troops to quickly occupy the city and other significant events on other fronts.



Contractual service form and military-technical cooperation



Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal announced efforts to transition the Ukrainian army to a contractual service form, which allows servicemen to choose their positions and places of service. A memorandum on joint production of fighters with Sweden was also signed, and a program for countering Russian drones for Kherson and other cities was announced.



Political statements of the president



Zelensky answered questions regarding Viktor Orban and Alexander Lukashenko, emphasizing the importance of friendship and preventing benefits for Russians in the energy sector. He also commented on the arrest of the former head of 'Ukrenergo' Volodymyr Kudrytsky, pointing to his failure to ensure the security of Ukrainian energy.
